Senior Clinical Governance Policy focused Opportunity | Forensic | VIC | $135,000 + Super + Benefits Henderson Healthcare is currently recruiting for a Senior Clinical Governance and Policy chance in Victoria with a leading provider of correctional and rehabilitation services.
A different kind of senior clinical role This is not a traditional full-time clinical position .
The role is weighted towards clinical governance, policy, quality, risk and organisational improvement , with a small forensic caseload allowing you to maintain your clinical practice and connection to frontline service delivery.
This is an opportunity for an experienced Psychologist, Social Worker, Mental Health Nurse or Occupational Therapist to step into a senior role combining clinical governance, policy development, quality, compliance and clinical leadership , while maintaining a small caseload of forensic clients .
The position would suit an experienced clinician who has developed strong clinical expertise and is now looking to move into a broader governance, policy and quality-focused role , without stepping completely away from clinical practice.
You will work closely with senior clinical and operational stakeholders to strengthen clinical standards, support best-practice service delivery, oversee policy and governance requirements, and contribute to continuous improvement across a complex forensic environment.
Key areas of responsibility include: • Providing clinical governance and oversight across service delivery • Developing, reviewing and implementing clinical policies, procedures and practice frameworks • Monitoring compliance with clinical standards, policies and relevant regulatory requirements • Supporting clinical risk identification, management and escalation • Leading clinical quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives • Undertaking and overseeing clinical audits, reviews and reporting • Reviewing clinical practice,



documentation and service delivery against required standards • Providing expert clinical guidance and advice to internal teams and senior stakeholders • Supporting the development and implementation of evidence-based clinical frameworks • Contributing to organisational policy and practice development • Providing clinical leadership, supervision, mentoring and guidance to clinicians • Working collaboratively with operational, custodial and multidisciplinary stakeholders • Supporting consistent application of evidence-based practice across the service • Maintaining a small caseload of complex forensic clients to retain clinical currency and expertise • Contributing to assessment, formulation, treatment planning and multidisciplinary review processes where required We're looking for a strong candidate with experience in: • Clinical governance and clinical quality • Policy development, review and implementation • Clinical risk management • Quality assurance and compliance • Clinical auditing and continuous improvement • Developing or implementing clinical practice frameworks • Working within complex healthcare, forensic, mental health or correctional environments • Providing clinical leadership and supervision • Working with senior clinical and operational stakeholders • Complex clinical assessment and intervention Relevant experience in forensic or correctional mental health, positive behaviour support, functional assessment, rehabilitation, Risk-Need-Responsivity (RNR) or the Good Lives Model (GLM) will be highly regarded.
It would suit an experienced clinician who is ready to broaden their impact — moving from predominantly direct clinical work into a role where they can influence policy, strengthen clinical standards, support governance and improve practice across a wider service .
