About the Role We are seeking an experienced Licensed Hotel/Club Manager to oversee the day-to-day and overnight operations of the venue.
This is a full-time night-shift position, with the successful candidate responsible for supervising venue operations throughout the evening and early morning, including overseeing the safe and orderly closure of the venue at approximately 4:00 am.
The role requires a hands-on manager who can lead staff, monitor gaming and hospitality operations, manage customer and operational issues, and ensure the venue remains compliant with all relevant liquor, gaming, workplace health and safety requirements.
Key Duties and Responsibilities Oversee the evening and overnight operations of the licensed venue, including food, beverage and gaming areas.
Supervise and coordinate staff across the venue during night shifts, including allocating duties and monitoring staff performance.
Manage the venue's operations through to closing time and ensure the venue is safely and properly closed at approximately 4:00 am.
Complete end-of-night closing procedures, including securing the premises, checking operational areas and ensuring relevant closing and handover procedures are completed.
Monitor gaming operations and ensure compliance with Victorian gaming legislation, licence conditions and responsible gambling requirements.
Ensure compliance with Victorian liquor licensing requirements, Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) obligations and venue policies.
Monitor patron behaviour,



manage incidents and respond appropriately to customer complaints and operational issues, particularly during late-night trading.
Conduct regular checks of the venue, gaming areas and other operational areas to maintain safety, security and service standards.
Manage cash handling, end-of-shift reconciliations, stock control and other financial and administrative procedures.
Monitor stock levels and coordinate with staff and suppliers to maintain appropriate stock availability.
Ensure workplace health and safety procedures are followed by staff throughout the night shift.
Implement and monitor operational policies and procedures to maintain consistent venue standards.
Train, supervise and support staff to ensure high standards of customer service and professional conduct.
Coordinate with security personnel and respond to venue incidents where required.
Liaise with suppliers, regulators and other external stakeholders as required.
Assist with venue promotions and marketing activities to support patronage and business performance.
Skills and Experience Required Minimum 1 year of full time experience in hospitality, hotel, club or licensed venue management.
Experience overseeing gaming operations within a licensed venue.
Strong understanding of Victorian liquor licensing, gaming compliance and responsible service obligations.
Demonstrated ability to manage venue closing procedures and oversee late-night operations.
Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
Ability to remain calm and make appropriate decisions when dealing with incidents or challenging situations.
Ability to work regular night shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
Qualifications and Licensing Relevant Diploma qualification or higher in Hospitality Management, Business Management or a related field is preferred.
Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification is required.
Must hold, or be eligible to obtain, relevant Victorian gaming licences and approval.
