This is an outstanding opportunity for a senior Emergency Medicine specialist to contribute to the development of a contemporary emergency service while providing clinical leadership, supporting education and training, and driving quality improvement across the department.
The role offers the opportunity to work within Central Queensland Health , with involvement in broader regional Emergency Medicine services, including Telehealth support and collaboration across CQ Health facilities where required.
The Opportunity The successful specialist will play a key role in supporting the delivery and development of high-quality Emergency Medicine services at Gladstone Hospital.
Key responsibilities include: Developing and implementing a contemporary, evidence-based model of care across the Emergency Department Providing high-quality emergency medical care to patients Supporting clinical governance, patient safety and risk management Driving quality improvement, innovation and continuous improvement initiatives Supporting the Director of Emergency Medicine in the leadership and development of the service Supervising and mentoring specialist trainees, junior doctors, medical students, nursing and allied health staff Contributing to the development of Emergency Medicine services across Central Queensland Providing clinical support through Telehealth where required Working across CQ Health facilities as required Participating in clinical audit, research and professional development Contributing to specialist training programs, including pathways towards FACEM and FACRRM This position provides an chance for a senior Emergency Medicine clinician to combine hands-on specialist practice with clinical leadership, education and service development .

Supported by approximately 282 full-time equivalent staff , the hospital provides comprehensive healthcare across acute, community and primary care services.

About You We are seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine specialist with strong clinical and leadership capabilities.
You will have: MBBS or equivalent , enabling eligibility for registration as a Medical Practitioner with AHPRA Significant clinical experience in Emergency Medicine Strong knowledge of contemporary Emergency Department models of care Demonstrated leadership capability Experience in quality improvement and service development A strong focus on clinical governance, patient safety and risk management Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to lead, negotiate and collaborate with medical, nursing and allied health professionals Commitment to education, supervision and professional development Additional requirements may apply as outlined in the relevant Role Description.
Remuneration Benefits The total remuneration package is valued at up to $652,478 per annum , comprising applicable salary levels and additional benefits.
Salary Depending on classification and experience,
