We deliver bulk earthworks, excavation, demolition, remediation, drainage and civil infrastructure works for head contractors, developers and government clients across metropolitan Sydney and regional NSW.
Our office is at St Leonards and our projects are located throughout the Sydney region.
The role We have a full time permanent opportunity for a Civil Engineer to join our team in Sydney.
Reporting to the General Manager, Operations Manager and/or Site Supervisor, you will provide engineering support across the full project cycle - from tender and design review, through set out and construction, to quality assurance and handover.
This is a hands on role that suits an engineer who wants site exposure as well as design and documentation work.
Key responsibilities ·Prepare, review and interpret civil engineering drawings, specifications and design documentation for earthworks, bulk excavation, drainage, roadworks and civil structures ·Carry out engineering calculations, quantity take offs and material estimates, and assist with tenders, project budgets and cost control ·Plan and program construction activities, and prepare method statements, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and work as executed documentation ·Provide day to day engineering support and technical direction to site supervisors, plant operators and subcontractors ·Set out works, check survey and level data,



and verify that construction complies with the design, the project specification and the relevant Australian Standards ·Monitor and report on project progress, productivity and cost, and prepare progress claims, variations and site records ·Coordinate geotechnical, environmental and structural investigations, and liaise with consultants, certifiers, authorities and client representatives ·Identify design and constructability issues, raise RFIs and develop practical engineering solutions ·Support work health and safety and environmental compliance, including SWMS review, risk assessment and site inspections ·Maintain project documentation, quality records and as built information Skills and qualifications required ·Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline ·At least 12 months relevant work experience as a civil engineer is preferred ·Working knowledge of Australian Standards and NSW civil construction practice ·Competent with AutoCAD or Civil 3D, MS Project or similar scheduling software, and MS Office ·Sound practical understanding of earthworks, excavation, drainage and civil structures ·Valuable written and verbal English communication skills, and the confidence to deal with clients, subcontractors and authorities ·Well organised and accurate, able to work independently as well as part of a team ·Current Australian driver's licence ·White Card, or willing to obtain one before commencement ·Australian citizens and permanent residents of Australia will be preferred What we offer ·Salary of $90,000 to $95,000 per year plus superannuation ·Full time permanent position based in Sydney ·Exposure to a broad range of civil, excavation, demolition and remediation projects ·A supportive team, and genuine scope to progress your career How to apply Please apply with your resume and a short covering letter.
