Operating across multiple locations, including a significant Queensland presence, the business has a strong operational and blue-collar workforce and is currently navigating an exciting period of change and transformation.
With operations across Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia, this is a hands-on environment where HR plays an important role in supporting operational leaders, employees and the broader business.
An immediate opportunity has become available for an experienced HR Business Partner to join the team on an initial three-month contract, providing senior HR support and continuity during a period of transition.
The Appointment Reporting directly to the CEO, you will step into a broad and highly autonomous HR Business Partner position, supporting leaders and employees across the organisation.
This is very much a hands-on operational HR role.
You will provide practical advice and support across the employee lifecycle, partnering with managers on employee relations, performance management, HR processes, policies and day-to-day people matters.
You will provide advice and guidance across ER and IR matters, including Award interpretation, while supporting performance management processes, probation reviews and more complex employee matters.
Return to Work and Workers' Compensation will also form part of your remit, including liaising with employees, operational leaders, payroll and relevant external providers.
Working across a geographically dispersed workforce, you will support the business nationally while developing strong relationships with operational leaders and employees.
You'll need to be comfortable working independently, managing competing priorities and taking ownership of HR matters from start to finish.
The Appointee You will be an experienced and commercially minded HR professional who can quickly understand a business, build relationships and confidently provide practical HR advice.
Your background will ideally have been gained within a blue-collar or operational workplace such as manufacturing, transport and logistics, construction, engineering, industrial services, resources or a similar sector.
You could currently be working as an HR Business Partner, Senior HR Advisor or HR Manager.
More important than your title is your ability to operate autonomously and confidently manage a broad generalist HR remit.
You will bring strong experience across employee relations, performance management and generalist HR, with exposure to Return to Work and Workers' Compensation highly regarded.
Experience supporting a multi-site or national workforce would also be advantageous.
This role will particularly suit someone who enjoys being visible within the business and working closely with operational teams rather than operating within a highly corporate HR environment.
You will be pragmatic, approachable and confident, with the experience to step into an established business and make an immediate contribution.
This is a t hree-month contract based in Ormeau, working five days per week onsite, with an immediate start available.
