Programmed Industrial Maintenance is looking for an experienced Shutdown Supervisor to join our team and take a key role in supervising and delivering shutdown activities across our Western Australian client portfolio.
This is a hands-on operational role suited to someone who understands shutdowns from planning and preparation through to on-site execution and close-out.
You will work closely with our clients, Shutdown Coordinators, operational management team and shutdown workforce to ensure each shutdown is delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.
The Role You will take ownership of the day-to-day supervision and delivery of shutdown activities, including: Leading and supervising shutdown crews across mining and industrial maintenance sites.
Reviewing shutdown scopes, work packs, schedules and labour requirements prior to execution.
Planning and allocating daily work activities to ensure shutdown milestones are achieved.
Conducting pre-start meetings, toolbox talks and daily workforce briefings.
Ensuring all personnel understand their assigned tasks, safety requirements and expected productivity.
Providing hands-on leadership and technical guidance to tradespeople and supporting personnel.
Ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with client procedures, permits, risk assessments and site requirements.
Monitoring shutdown progress, workforce productivity, quality and schedule performance.
Coordinating daily work fronts, equipment, materials and resources to minimise delays.
Maintaining regular communication with client representatives and Programmed's operational management team.
Identifying and resolving operational issues, including changes in scope, workforce requirements and site conditions.
Managing workforce performance, attendance and behavioural matters as required.
Supporting incident management, investigations and implementation of corrective actions.
Ensuring accurate completion of timesheets,



daily progress reports and shutdown documentation.
Identifying additional works and communicating scope changes to the Shutdown Coordinator or operational management team.
Participating in post-shutdown reviews and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
Building strong working relationships with our clients, employees and shutdown workforce.
About You We are looking for someone with genuine shutdown supervision experience who understands the realities of leading maintenance crews and delivering work in the WA mining and resources industry.
You will ideally bring: Demonstrated experience as a Shutdown Supervisor, Maintenance Supervisor, Leading Hand or similar within mining, fixed plant, mineral processing or heavy industry.
A relevant mechanical, structural, fabrication, piping or other maintenance trade background.
Previous experience supervising multidisciplinary maintenance crews during shutdown execution.
S26 qualification.
Strong understanding of shutdown planning, work allocation, scheduling and execution.
Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and manage tradespeople in a fast-paced shutdown environment.
Strong safety leadership and a thorough understanding of mining and industrial safety requirements.
Experience with permit-to-work systems, risk assessments, isolation procedures and safe work practices.
The ability to monitor productivity, manage work fronts and deliver shutdown activities within agreed timeframes.
Excellent organisational, leadership and communication skills.
Confidence dealing directly with clients, site representatives and operational management.
The ability to manage changing priorities and make practical decisions under pressure.
A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a willingness to lead from the front.
Sound computer and administrative skills, including timesheets, daily reporting and shutdown documentation.
A current Australian driver's licence.
