The opportunity
n
Working as part of a collaborative technical team, you'll provide engineering support across a range of products and customer applications.
n
You'll work closely with Sales, Operations, Product Development and Supply Chain, helping turn customer requirements into solutions that are safe, compliant, practical and commercially viable.
n
Your work will include a mix of design and analysis, technical documentation, product improvement and customer support - so no two days are likely to look exactly the same.
n
What you'll be doing
n

Undertake structural assessments, calculations and engineering design work
n
Provide technical advice on products and customer applications
n
Review and prepare engineering drawings,



calculations and technical documentation
n
Support product development, testing and validation
n
Conduct structural load assessments, modelling and analysis
n
Help ensure designs comply with relevant Australian Standards and the NCC
n
Work with external engineers, consultants and testing providers when required
n
Support the Sales team with technical advice, tenders and customer requirements
n
Attend customer or project meetings where your engineering expertise can add value
n
Identify practical design improvements, alternative solutions and opportunities to reduce cost or simplify installation
n
Work closely with Operations and Supply Chain to ensure designs are practical to manufacture and implement
n
Contribute to quality, safety and continuous improvement initiatives
n

About you
n
We're looking for a hands-on Structural Engineer who enjoys solving problems and seeing their work translated into a physical product or real-world application.
n
You'll ideally have:
n
n
A degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
n
Around 3-5+ years' experience in structural engineering, design, construction, manufacturing or a related environment
n
Strong understanding of structural design principles and relevant Australian Standards
n
Experience with structural analysis/design software such as SpaceGass, Strand7 or similar
n
The ability to interpret drawings, specifications and technical documentation
n
Good understanding of construction methods and practical buildability
n
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
n
Clear communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-engineers
n
A practical, commercially minded approach to engineering
n
n
Experience with steel, fixings, structural products or specialist construction systems would be advantageous, but isn't essential.
