KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Process payroll transactions accurately, efficiently and within required timeframes.
Collect, calculate and maintain payroll data, including wages, allowances, deductions, leave, terminations and taxation.
Administer superannuation, salary continuance insurance, workers' compensation payments and other employee-related payments.
Prepare payroll, financial and operational reports, including ad hoc reporting as required.
Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure documentation meets statutory and company requirements.
Monitor changes to employee entitlements, payroll legislation and taxation requirements and update processes accordingly.
Develop, maintain and improve payroll procedures to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
Reconcile payroll-related balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
Provide accurate and timely advice to employees regarding payroll, remuneration, benefits and entitlements.
Liaise with external payroll, benefits and relevant government agencies as required.
Provide administrative support to the HR team across the employee lifecycle.
Support HR initiatives, systems implementation and process improvement activities.
Maintain strict confidentiality and integrity of payroll and employee information.
Provide training and coaching to team members where required and support broader team coverage.
Contribute to continuous improvement of payroll processes, systems and employee services.
Perform other duties as required.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL HAVE:
Demonstrated experience in a payroll role within a similarly sized organisation.
Strong knowledge of Australian payroll, taxation, employee entitlements and relevant legislation.
Experience working with
Pronto, SAP, UKG or similar payroll systems
.
Robust Microsoft Office and database skills, particularly Excel.
High attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.
Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees and stakeholders at all levels.
A strong customer-service focus and professional approach.
The ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Basic knowledge of HR principles, practices and legislation.
