Synopsis:

Project Officer and Project and Enquiries Officers
APS 6

At eSafety, we are pioneers in online safety regulation, leading global efforts to combat digital harms and foster safer, more positive online experiences for all Australians.

Our mission is bold and far-reaching.

From tackling cyberbullying and child sexual exploitation, to confronting emerging harms brought about by recent innovations such as generative AI and immersive technologies, we oversee Australia's online safety landscape.

About the roles

We have a number of APS 6 opportunities available for Project and Project and Enquiries Officers in our Safer Communities and Technology-Facilitated Abuse (TFA) Support Service teams.

Safer Communities: Project Officer role

The Project Officer role in the Safer Communities team supports eSafety's work to ensure online safety initiatives for older Australians and culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities are effective, accessible and responsive to emerging technologies and online safety trends.

The Project Officer supports the delivery of initiatives under the Be Connected digital literacy program, including eSafety's intergenerational Young Mentors initiative, and supports engagement with culturally and linguistically diverse communities (CALD) through the development of accessible, in-language resources and services. Through this work, you will help advance digital inclusion and online safety, empowering older Australians and vulnerable communities to participate confidently, safely and independently in an increasingly connected world.

The Project Officer provides project and administrative support that includes coordinating the development of resources and digital assets with external suppliers, managing program surveys and developing reports, supporting stakeholder engagement activities and procurement and contract management processes.

The role develops and maintains productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, suppliers and community partners, contributing to the effective delivery of projects and positive outcomes for target audiences.

A key focus of the role is managing enquiries from members of the public, community organisations and stakeholders, providing accurate, timely and accessible information about eSafety's programs, services and resources. The role monitors emerging issues and community concerns, identifies trends in enquiries, and contributes to continuous improvements in service delivery and resource development.

Technology-Facilitated Abuse (TFA) Support Service: Project and Enquiries Officer roles

The Project and Enquiries Officer roles in the TFA Support Service team support eSafety's work to strengthen the capacity of frontline workers, practitioners and domestic, family and sexual violence (DFSV) services to recognise and respond to technology-facilitated abuse and online safety concerns.

A key focus of the role is managing phone and online enquiries from frontline workers, often providing advice in real time while they support clients experiencing technology-facilitated abuse. This includes delivering accurate, timely and practical guidance on the misuse of technology and online risks. The role provides a unique opportunity to support frontline workers responding to domestic, family and sexual violence. Through the advice and guidance you provide, you will contribute to safer, more informed responses to technology-facilitated abuse and help strengthen support for victim-survivors.

The role identifies emerging trends and issues, contributes to the development of resources and guidance materials, and supports the continuous improvement of the Service's advice, referral pathways and support offerings. The position also contributes to stakeholder engagement and capability-building activities, supporting the delivery of national initiatives that improve awareness and understanding of technology-facilitated abuse and promote safer outcomes for victim-survivors. In addition, the role responds to enquiries submitted by members of the public through eSafety's online contact channels.

Key responsibilities of both the Project Officer and Project and Enquiries Officer roles include the following:

- Manage and respond to enquiries from members of the public, frontline workers and practitioners, community organisations and stakeholders, providing accurate, timely and audience-appropriate advice on eSafety's programs, resources and online safety issues across a range of channels, including phone and email.
- Assess and triage enquiries, escalating complex, sensitive or emerging issues as required and ensuring matters are resolved appropriately through suitable advice, referral and escalation pathway.
- Deliver accurate, timely, accessible and trauma-informed responses, providing guidance on eSafety resources, online platforms, digital technologies and available referral pathways.
- Identify trends, issues and stakeholder needs arising from enquiries and provide insights to support program improvement, resource development and sector and community engagement strategies.
- Contribute to the planning, coordination and delivery of key eSafety projects and initiatives.
- Build and maintain productive working relationships with stakeholders across government, industry, frontline services and community sectors.
- Prepare high-quality written materials, including correspondence, reports, briefings and stakeholder communications.
- Support the development and delivery of in-language resources, and resources relating to technology-facilitated abuse and online safety,

in line with best practice and Federal Government Language Services guidelines.
- Support procurement activities and assist with the management of supplier contracts. Provide advice and recommendations within the team and contribute to business planning and continuous improvement activities.
- Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and subject matter experts to support the delivery of integrated program outcomes.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of operational guidance, resources and knowledge materials that support consistent, high-quality service and response.
