Join the Chemical Pathology team at Princess Alexandra Hospital and work across a diverse range of diagnostic and therapeutic testing in a fast-paced, 24/7 laboratory environment. As a Medical Scientist, you’ll perform investigations ranging from routine through to complex and highly specialised testing, applying your analytical, scientific and clinical interpretive skills to deliver accurate, high-quality results. You’ll also be involved in result verification and validation, while maintaining and developing your competence across all areas of the laboratory. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team of Health Professionals and Clinical Assistants, you’ll play an important role in delivering a continuous 24-hour, 7-day service. This is a continuous shift position, with day, evening and overnight shifts required.

You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:

- Knowledge of chemical pathology testing and its role in clinical medicine.
- Knowledge, skills and expertise in analytical methods relevant to chemical pathology.
- Knowledge, skills and expertise in the validation and clinical interpretation of results in chemical pathology and its diagnostic, therapeutic and monitoring role in disease and health.
- The ability to work independently and in a team and demonstrate initiative in problem solving using creative solutions in the delivery of a high-quality testing service.
