What you'll be doing

The National Centre for Immunisation Research and Surveillance of Vaccine Preventable Diseases (NCIRS) is the leading research organisation in Australia that provides objective expert advice on all aspects of vaccine-preventable diseases (VPDs), vaccines, and other issues related to immunisation, to inform policy and planning for immunisation services in Australia and to support the control of VPDs across the whole life-course. NCIRS also has a growing Global Health program that works to support countries, particularly those in the Asia-Pacific region, on their immunisation system strengthening efforts. This work is funded through agreements with the Australian and New South Wales governments, including the Australian Centre for Disease Control, as well as other funding agencies.

The Senior Program Manager provides strategic leadership, management and oversight of the national Primary Health Network (PHN) Support Program, organisation-wide resource development activities and stakeholder engagement across PHN and consumer audiences.

The role is responsible for ensuring effective delivery of the PHN Support Program in alignment with strategic objectives, contractual obligations, public health priorities and stakeholder requirements while strengthening organisational capability, performance and collaboration across the primary healthcare sector.

The role also provides strategic oversight and management of resource development across NCIRS, ensuring resources are appropriately planned, prioritised, coordinated and developed to support organisational priorities and emerging needs.

The position provides high-level strategic advice and coordinates engagement activities across both PHN and consumer stakeholders,



to foster strong relationships and meaningful participation to inform program delivery, resource development and organisational priorities.

The position develops and maintains strong relationships with Primary Health Networks, government agencies, peak bodies and other key stakeholders to facilitate collaboration, coordinate sector-wide initiatives and support the delivery of consistent, evidence-based approaches. As a senior program manager in the Engagement and Education team, the role leads stakeholder engagement planning and coordination to ensure stakeholder insights, organisational priorities and contractual requirements are effectively reflected in program activities, resource development and communication strategies.

The role contributes to organisational planning, workforce capability development and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring the PHN Support Program delivers measurable outcomes and supports NCIRS's strategic objectives. T he role will work closely with the Education manager in support of the development of educational initiatives for NCIRS.

- Demonstrated experience leading governance, risk management, quality assurance and performance monitoring activities within a complex organisational environment.
- Proven leadership experience, including managing and developing high-performing teams, coordinating resources and driving organisational capability and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Highly developed analytical, communication and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated experience managing competing priorities, interpreting complex information and delivering outcomes within contractual, budgetary and organisational requirements
- Demonstrate a culture of quality and patient safety in clinical research.
