About the Role

We're looking for a hands-on and reliable Trade Assistant/Skilled Labourer to join a team manufacturing floating pontoon jetties, approximately 13m x 4.5m in size, based in North Fremantle.

Working as part of a close-knit and skilled team, you'll be involved in the hands-on construction of large-scale floating pontoons, including foam core, fibreglass, steel and concrete reinforcement. Day-to-day duties will involve manual tasks such as cable tying, general fabrication support and assisting tradespeople throughout the manufacturing process.

The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings will be highly regarded, along with previous exposure to concrete work, steel reinforcement or fabrication. Concrete pours are currently subcontracted, however there is scope for this work to be brought in-house over time, making any previous experience in this area advantageous.

We're after someone with a Trade Assistant or Skilled Labourer background, good mechanical aptitude and a genuine willingness to learn a unique manufacturing process. This is a great chance to get hands-on with genuinely interesting, large-scale marine infrastructure while working alongside an experienced and supportive team.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist with the manufacture and assembly of floating pontoon jetties, approximately 12m x 4.5m, including foam core, fibreglass, steel and concrete reinforcement stages




- Carry out manual tasks such as cable tying and general fabrication support during pontoon construction
- Read and interpret engineering drawings to support accurate build processes
- Work alongside tradespeople, senior skilled labourers and the wider team to ensure pontoons meet build and load specifications
- Assist with the preparation and launch of pontoons, ensuring they are structurally sound before entering the water
- Assist with concrete pour activities as this work is progressively brought in-house
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area in line with site safety standards
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures and site requirements
- Assist with general workshop, manufacturing and labouring duties as required

What you will need:

- Trade Assistant or Skilled Labourer background (Essential)
- Good mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new and specialised processes (Essential)
- Ability to complete manual and physically demanding duties (Essential)
- Ability to read and follow engineering drawings (Desirable)
- Previous experience within manufacturing, construction, marine or heavy industrial environments (Desirable)
- Exposure to concrete work,



steel reinforcement and/or fabrication (Desirable)
- Reliable with a strong work ethic (Essential)
- Safety-conscious and able to work effectively as part of a team
- Good attention to detail and accuracy
- Willingness to assist with a range of general workshop and manufacturing duties
