Our client is an established Australian FMCG business with a strong market presence across multiple sales channels. They are now looking for a Demand Planner to take ownership of the demand plan and play a central role in their S&OP; process.

The opportunity

This is a standalone role with real visibility. You will be the go-to person for demand across the business, turning sales data, promotional activity and market trends into forecasts and insights that people use to make decisions. Reporting to a senior leader in the planning and logistics function, you will work closely with Sales, Marketing, Production, Product Development, Finance and Supply Planning to keep demand and supply capability aligned.

What you will be doing

- Building and maintaining an unconstrained demand plan using historical sales, customer demand patterns, promotions and market trends
- Owning forecast accuracy and reporting on key metrics including Forecast Accuracy, DIFOT, Demand Variance, Stock on Hand and Out of Stock/At Risk
- Running the monthly demand review and contributing to the monthly S&OP; cycle
- Leading the SLOB review process, flagging risk early and working with sales channels to reduce stock write-offs
- Calling out demand spikes, supply risks and forecast exceptions, and recommending clear mitigation strategies




- Supporting campaign, seasonal and new product planning, including launches and discontinuations
- Assisting with allocation planning when supply is constrained
- Keeping planning master data, parameters and calendars accurate, and helping to develop the business's IBP platform

What you will bring

- Demand planning or forecasting experience, ideally in FMCG, food manufacturing or retail
- Sharp analytical skills and the ability to turn data into insights that influence commercial decisions
- Solid S&OP; knowledge and exposure to an IBP or planning system (Netstock preferred)
- Strong stakeholder skills, with the confidence to build relationships and influence at all levels
- A proactive, adaptable approach and the ability to stay composed under time pressure
- A tertiary qualification in supply chain, business, commerce or a related field is desirable
