Console Operator / Driveway Attendant – Remote Coastal Northern Territory

Bring your customer service skills, cash-handling experience and practical, hands-on approach to a varied live-in role on the remote coastal Northern Territory. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, is confident working independently and doesn’t mind getting stuck into a little bit of everything — from serving customers and operating the register to monitoring the fuel forecourt, restocking shelves and preparing basic takeaway food.

This busy remote venue provides an essential service to locals, travellers and visitors, offering 24-hour fuel, ice, fishing supplies, hot food, cold drinks, snacks, fuel containers, vehicle batteries and much more.

This position is for a single person and is not suitable for couples.

The Package

- Full-time position
- $27.97 per hour Monday–Friday
- $41.96 per hour Saturday & Sunday
- $55.94 per hour Public Holidays
- Offsite accommodation: $100 per week, including Wi-Fi

The roster will include at least one weekend day, with flexibility required for both opening and closing shifts.

What You’ll Be Doing

This is a genuinely hands-on role where no two shifts are quite the same. Your responsibilities will include:

- Operating the register and serving customers
- Providing friendly and efficient customer service
- Responding to customer enquiries and resolving complaints professionally
- Handling cash accurately and responsibly
- Monitoring fuel sales and remaining alert to potential drive-offs
- Keeping an eye on the forecourt and maintaining a safe environment




- Restocking shelves and maintaining appropriate stock levels, particularly during busy periods
- Ensuring pricing and product displays are accurate and clearly visible
- Preparing basic takeaway food, including simple cooking and sushi preparation
- Following food safety and handling procedures
- Bagging and handling ice
- General cleaning and housekeeping duties
- Following and enforcing workplace safety and security procedures
- Assisting with other duties as required

What We’re Looking For

You’ll be well suited to this role if you are:

- Experienced in customer service, retail, fuel station or similar environments
- Confident handling cash and operating a register
- Friendly, approachable and professional with customers
- A positive person who is comfortable with early starts
- Reliable, flexible and happy to work a varied roster
- A strong communicator who works well as part of a team
- Comfortable taking initiative and working independently
- Able to follow food safety, workplace safety and security procedures
- Physically capable of standing for extended periods and undertaking regular manual handling
- Comfortable moving and replenishing larger quantities of stock

A current Food Handlers Certificate is required.
