Are you a seasoned document accessibility specialist with high-level expertise in Microsoft Word? A prominent Victorian state government department is seeking a skilled contractor to lead the accessibility creation and compliance for their upcoming Annual Report.

In this role, you will take pre-designed, completed Word documents provided by internal teams and remediate them to ensure full accessibility compliance (WCAG 2.1 AA standards) before the report goes live online.

Key Responsibilities:

- Transform provided Microsoft Word documents into fully accessible, compliant documents ready for digital publication.
- Apply accessibility best practices, including correct heading structures, alt text, reading orders, table structures, and color contrast requirements.
- Work efficiently within a tight project timeline to ensure all document sections pass compliance reviews.
- Coordinate review periods and maintain smooth communication to meet strict publication deadlines.

Timeline & Key Dates:

- Mid-October: Financial statements section provided.
- Late October (1–2 weeks following): Remaining annual report sections provided.
- Mid-November: Final accessible document live date.

About You:





- Proven experience creating fully accessible Microsoft Word documents within corporate or government sectors.
- Strong understanding of WCAG accessibility standards and government publishing requirements.
- Ability to work independently, manage review cycles effectively, and deliver high-quality outcomes to firm deadlines.
- Although this is a remote assignment, given the nature of the client, you must be an Australian citizen based in Australia for this prospect.
