About the role

We are seeking a proactive, hands on and motivated Health and Safety professional with demonstrated Emergency Services experience to join our Port Gregory Operations. Responsible for providing advice and guidance regarding health and safety matters to our frontline operational team members and leaders, and maintaining safety management systems, this position uniquely will also lead and maintain the site's emergency response and preparedness capability. Key responsibilities

- Providing advice to operational personnel in relation to risk and the development and implementation of appropriate controls, ensuring mine site compliance with business Health and Safety frameworks and relevant statutory requirements

- Supporting the development, documentation, review and continuous improvement of health, safety and risk management procedures, operating standards, work practices and systems, including site emergency response plans, emergency procedures

- Leading and facilitating significant incident investigations and assisting and leading frontline leaders and managers in incident investigations processes such as ICAMs and root cause analyses

- Attending management, safety committee and contractor meetings to drive alignment and consistency of processes and systems across work groups and operations

- Coaching team members in the application of Take 5s, JSA's, formal risk assessments and other risk management tools, monitoring quality and providing advice on improvement opportunities

- Identifying operational risks and hazards and implement practical strategies to reduce exposure and strengthen site resilience across HSER

- Participating in workplace inspections, audits and safety initiatives that promote a proactive and positive safety culture

- Developing site HSER capability through the planning,



delivery and evaluation of training programs, drills and emergency exercises

- Providing and coordinating first-response capabilities for medical emergencies, fire incidents, rescue operations, hazardous materials events and other emergency situations, liaising with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate effective response and care

- Ensuring adequate availability of safety consumables and ensuring operational readiness of all HSER equipment, vehicles, facilities and communication systems

About you

- 5+ years proven experience in health, safety and emergency response or emergency management, preferably in a Mining or Heavy Industry workplace

- Relevant qualification in OHS or related discipline

- Certificate IV in Health Care or equivalent relevant emergency medical qualification

- Current Provide First Aid qualification

- Current Advanced Resuscitation qualification

- Excellent communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills

- Ability to remain calm and make effective decisions in high-pressure situations

- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

- Working rights in Australia required
