We are a market-leading national Australian manufacturer making significant investments in sustainable technology and plant infrastructure. We are looking for an ambitious, proactive Electrical Engineer (3-5 years experience) to join our team in the Southern Highlands.

Working directly alongside an experienced Principal Electrical Engineer, you won't be treated as a small cog in a huge machine-you will enjoy genuine project ownership across an annual capital investment portfolio valued up to $100 million.

- Direct Mentorship: Work closely with senior technical experts who will coach you through complex industrial designs, safety standards, and project execution.

- Real On-Site Responsibility: Develop skills in contractor coordination, technical scoping, budgeting, design review, and site commissioning.
- Long-Term Progression: Establish a clear pathway toward becoming a Senior Project Engineer, Lead Design Specialist, or Chartered Engineer (CPEng) within a national footprint.

What You'll Be Doing.

Instead of getting bogged down in corporate red tape, your day-to-day will be practical, varied, and hands-on:

- Designing Plant Upgrades: Help draft and review single-line diagrams (SLDs), electrical schematics, and equipment layouts for plant improvements.
- Delivering Capital Projects: Take project ideas from initial concept and budgeting through to purchasing equipment and overseeing site installation.
- Managing On-Site Works:



Coordinate electrical contractors during project build phases and plant shutdowns to ensure work is completed safely and correctly.
- Solving Technical Problems: Investigate electrical faults, optimize process control systems (PLCs/SCADA), and identify energy-saving opportunities.
- Collaborating Across Disciplines: Work closely with mechanical engineers, site operations, and external vendors to build practical solutions.

What We Are Looking For

We don't expect 10+ years of heavy industrial experience. We want someone who understands the engineering fundamentals, enjoys hands-on problem-solving, and is eager to learn:

- Qualification: Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience). Membership or progress towards Chartered status with Engineers Australia is welcomed.
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of post-graduate Australian experience in heavy manufacturing, continuous process plants, utilities, power distribution, mining, or industrial infrastructure.
- Key Skills:
- Exposure to low voltage (LV) or high voltage (HV) distribution systems, switchboards, or industrial motors.
- Practical understanding of Australian Standards and electrical schematics.
- Working knowledge of basic control systems (PLCs / SCADA).
- Basic experience with equipment estimating, scope writing, or overseeing site contractors.

- Mindset: Strong communication skills, a team-first attitude, and the confidence to take initiative.
