Business Studies Teacher (Years 9-12) - Temporary Contract

Snowy Mountains Grammar School has an exciting opportunity within its HSIE Faculty for a temporary 2027 placement for a specialist Business Studies teacher. Delivering engaging programs across Stage 5 Commerce and Stage 6 Business Studies, you will play a key role in inspiring academic excellence, critical thinking, and entrepreneurial mindset in our middle and senior school students.

Position Details

Role: Business Studies Teacher (Years 9-12)
Term: Fixed-Term 2027 Maternity Leave Cover (1 January 2027 to 31 December 2027)
Employment Type: Full-time or part time by negotiation
Remuneration: as per Independent Schools NSW (Teachers) Cooperative Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2025
Closing Date: Friday 29th October 2026

A Snowy Mountains Grammar School teacher is an inspiring, empathetic, and dedicated educator who serves as a positive role model for our students. You will bring depth of subject knowledge in Business Studies and Commerce, actively cultivating positive, collaborative partnerships with students, families, and the broader School community.

Essential Criteria

- Qualifications and strong subject expertise in Business Studies / Commerce.

- Hold current, or be eligible to obtain, NSW Teacher Registration (NESA) prior to commencement.

- Hold a current valid NSW Working With Children Check (WWCC).

- Demonstrated commitment to child safety, wellbeing, and adherence to child protection legislation and school policy.

- Proven ability to teach Stage 6 HSC Business Studies with strong student performance outcomes.

- Proven ability to facilitate a positive learning environment that cultivates curious, critical thinkers and that inspires deeper learning.

- Highly developed communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.

- Excellent ICT skills and the ability to integrate technology into lessons to improve learning.

- Enthusiastic commitment to contributing to the school’s co-curricular and pastoral care programs.

Desirable Criteria
- Ability to teach additional HSIE subjects (Modern History, Legal Studies, Business Studies, Society & Culture or Geography).
