About the role:

Based in our base in Tonsley, the Composite Technician is responsible for preparing, fabricating, and assembling composite parts and structures in accordance with engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality standards. This role requires attention to detail, manual dexterity, and a commitment to working as part of a collaborative production team. Success in this position depends not only on technical proficiency but also on having a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a focus on quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

As the successful candidate you will:

- Interpret and follow engineering drawings, lay-up charts, and verbal instructions.

- Perform lay-up of composite materials such as carbon fibre, fibreglass, and prepreg into Moulds.

- Carry out vacuum bagging, resin infusion, composite wet-lay, trimming, bonding, and post-processing of parts.

- Operate equipment such as ovens, cutting tools, and curing stations.

- Handle materials and tools safely and accurately to avoid defects or waste.





- Perform structural and non-structural bonding assemblies using approved adhesives, fixtures, work instructions, and processes.

- Manufacture plugs, composite moulds, tooling, jigs, and fixtures in accordance with engineering and production requirements.

- Inspect and verify quality of work at each stage of the build process.

- Follow all work instructions, process sheets, and quality standards.

- Flag any deviations or non-conformances immediately and support corrective action efforts.

About you:

The skills and qualifications needed for you to thrive include:

- A certificate or relevant trade qualification in composites but not essential

- Aerospace or marine manufacturing experience using composite materials

- Previous hands-on experience in composite lay-up, trimming, and assembly preferred but not essential.

- Familiarity with composite materials and basic manufacturing processes.

- An ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and lay-up instructions.

- Being comfortable using hand and power tools in a production setting.

- A positive, can-do attitude with a willingness to learn and grow.

- Having high attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

- Being dependable, punctual, and having an ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

- An ability to be flexible and adaptable in a dynamic production environment.
