About the role

This is a predominantly clinic-based paediatric Speech Pathology role from the Malvern East clinic. Your caseload may include children requiring support with speech sound development, receptive and expressive language, social communication, early language, literacy, phonological awareness, fluency, AAC, Developmental Language Disorder, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, autism and other developmental differences. You will work with a mixed caseload of private clients and NDIS participants. Therapy is focused on supporting communication, participation, confidence and quality of life rather than encouraging children to mask or change simply to appear more neurotypical.

Key responsibilities

- Complete assessments and provide individualised therapy

- Develop meaningful goals with families

- Support families with practical strategies

- Collaborate with other professionals involved in each child's care

- Work with parents and teachers to develop strategies that can be used outside the therapy room

- Trial AAC options with families

- Collaborate with Occupational Therapists, Psychologists and other multidisciplinary team members

About you

- Hold a recognised qualification in Speech Pathology

- Be eligible for membership with Speech Pathology Australia

- Hold, or be eligible to obtain, a current Working With Children Check

- Hold, or be eligible to obtain,



an NDIS Worker Screening Check

- Genuinely enjoy working with children and families

- Communicate well and value collaboration
