The Opportunity

Core Crew Training is a registered training organisation dedicated to providing top-notch training and assessment services that support the development and certification of professionals across the mining industry. We are looking for an experienced Trainer and Assessor to deliver mobile plant training and assessment at a hard rock mine site, with a focus on haul trucks and associated production equipment.

This is a casual engagement for approximately 3–4 months, working a flexible roster on a fly-in fly-out (FIFO) basis - east coast.

You’ll be responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality training in the field, assessing operator competencies, and ensuring that all training and assessment activities meet industry standards, site requirements and RTO procedures.

What the Role Entails

- Deliver practical and theory-based training on haul trucks and other surface mobile plant as required.
- Conduct competency assessments and verifications of competency (VOCs) against nationally recognised RII units and site procedures.
- Train and assess new and existing operators through equipment familiarisations, upskilling and refresher training.
- Provide in-field coaching and constructive feedback to operators of all experience levels.




- Maintain accurate training and assessment records in line with RTO and client requirements.
- Work closely with site supervisors and training coordinators to meet production training schedules.
- Promote and model safe work practices and site standards at all times.

What You Will Need

- Cert IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or TAE40116) or equivalent.
- Relevant RII competencies in haul truck operations and other surface mobile plant.
- Demonstrated operating experience in hard rock mining, ideally on large rigid-body haul trucks.
- Previous experience training and assessing in a mining environment is highly desirable.
- Robust knowledge of training delivery and assessment methods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate learners.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening.
- Current driver’s licence.
- Availability to commit to the full 3–4 month engagement on a FIFO basis.
