About the role

United Pacific Engineering is seeking experienced Fabricators and Welders to join our team on a casual basis. This is a hands-on position based in Coffs Harbour, NSW, where you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and welding various components and structures. As a Fabricator and Welder, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality products that meet our clients' specifications and industry standards.

These casual positions have come about as we have been asked to accelerate progress on major projects for our valued clients. This position offers flexibility whilst allowing you to contribute to one or more challenging projects with a genuine opportunity to join our workshop team on a longer term basis.

Key responsibilities

- Fabricate and assemble metal components and structures according to technical drawings and specifications

- Perform welding operations using various welding techniques to project specific requirements.

- Monitor your own work in progress and upon completion to ensure compliance with quality standards and safety requirements

- Operate and maintain welding and fabrication equipment in a secure and efficient manner

- Read and interpret technical drawings, work instructions and specifications to guide your fabrication work

- Prepare materials for welding and fabrication processes

- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure projects are completed on schedule

- Adhere to workplace health and safety protocols and maintain a clean, organised work environment

- Assist with fitting, positioning, and final assembly of your completed parts as required

What we're looking for

- Recognised qualifications in welding and fabrication, such as a Certificate III or IV in Welding

- Proven experience in fabrication and welding of Carbon and /or Stainless Steels

- Demonstrated proficiency in various welding techniques, including MIG, FCAW and stick welding

- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings,



specifications and work instructions accurately

- Care for workshop equipment, others in the workplace and attention to the task at hand

- Physical fitness and ability to work in demanding environments, including standing for extended periods

- A commitment to workplace health and safety standards

- Strong communication and teamwork skills

- Reliability and the ability to work independently as well as within a team

- Current working rights in Australia

- Preferred experience with heavy fabrication and welding techniques

- ability to start work within the next few weeks

- willingness to work reasonable overtime as required to meet project requirements.
