We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Full-Time Dispensary Assistant to join our team at Amcal Bayswater Drive-In Pharmacy.
Previous pharmacy experience is preferred but not essential — full training will be provided. What matters most to us is that you are reliable, willing to learn, have a strong work ethic, and enjoy working as part of a team.
About the Role
As a Dispensary Assistant, you will work closely with our pharmacists and pharmacy manager in the day-to-day operation of the dispensary, helping to provide efficient, accurate and friendly service to our patients.
Your duties will include:
- Providing exceptional customer service and responding to customer enquiries
- Assisting pharmacists with the accurate and efficient dispensing of medications
- Processing prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist
- Managing and maintaining the dispensing database
- Ordering, receiving and managing dispensary stock, including daily orders, monthly bulk orders and direct supplier orders
- Checking and maintaining PBS prescriptions to ensure they are up to date and ready for claim processing
- Managing inventory and maintaining a clean, organised and effective dispensary
- Assisting with compliance with PBS and other relevant legislative requirements
- Preparing and amending dosage administration aids (DAAs)
- Working collaboratively with the wider retail pharmacy team
- Assisting in other areas of the pharmacy as required
What We're Looking For
- Previous pharmacy experience is preferred but not essential
- Certificate II in Community Pharmacy is preferred
- Experience with FRED Dispense, FRED Office, Healthstream and Quantum is highly regarded
- Medication packing/DAA experience is an advantage
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Good computer literacy
- A strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Flexibility to assist in different areas of the pharmacy when required
