Frankie's Cabarita is a newly established café in Cabarita Beach, taking over an existing café operation and developing a fresh, approachable food offering focused on quality, value and consistency.

The Cook / Chef is responsible for the effective day-to-day operation of the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking, presentation, food safety, stock control, cleanliness and service delivery. The successful applicant will also be encouraged to contribute ideas, specials and menu improvements as Frankie's continues to establish its identity and customer offering.

Key responsibilities

- Preparing and cooking breakfast, lunch and other café menu items to a consistently high standard

- Ensuring food presentation, quality and portion sizes remain consistent

- Completing daily food preparation and mise en place requirements

- Managing kitchen workflow during busy service periods

- Maintaining appropriate food safety, hygiene and cleaning standards

- Ensuring food is stored, labelled and rotated correctly

- Monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering

- Minimising food waste and maintaining appropriate portion control

- Maintaining an organised,



clean and effective kitchen

- Working collaboratively with front-of-house staff to provide efficient customer service

About you

- Previous experience working as a Cook, Chef or similar role in a commercial kitchen

- Strong café, breakfast and lunch service experience

- Ability to work efficiently during busy service periods

- Good food preparation and cooking skills

- Strong organisational and time-management skills

- Good understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements

- Understanding of food costs, portion control and waste management

- Ability to work independently when required

- Ability to work effectively within a small team

- Good communication skills
