A young person’s future should never be defined by their past. As an Intensive Caseworker, Youth Justice Community Support Service, you’ll help young people build the skills, confidence and connections they need to create a safer, more positive path forward.

The Intensive Caseworker plays a vital role in supporting young people involved with Youth Justice to successfully transition into their communities and move towards greater independence. Working alongside young people, families and key support networks, you will help reduce barriers to education, employment, social connection and wellbeing.

Through strengths-based, trauma-informed practice, you’ll empower young people to build resilience, make positive life choices and develop the confidence to thrive. This is an prospect to contribute to meaningful, long-term outcomes that strengthen individuals, families and the wider community.

As an Intensive Caseworker, Youth Justice Community Support Service, you will:

- Empower young people to build independence, resilience and skills for adulthood.
- Develop trusted relationships that support positive behaviour change and community connection.
- Partner with families and service providers to create pathways to education, employment and wellbeing.
- Facilitate coordinated support that reduces re-offending and strengthens long-term outcomes.

Position Details

- Part time, fixed term position until 30 June 2027
- 0.8 FTE working 60.8 hours per fortnight
- $105,835 (pro-rata) p/a + Super + Salary Packaging

What We’re Looking For

We value individuals who bring dedication, empathy, and expertise to their roles. To succeed in this position, you will have:

- Tertiary qualification (or equivalent) in Youth Work, Social Work or Community Welfare (Diploma+). Will consider a relevant combination of education and experience.




- Experience in providing case management support to vulnerable individuals and families utilising the Best Interests Case Management Framework.
- Proven ability to engage and case-manage young people at risk and young people exhibiting challenging behaviours
- An understanding of the impact of trauma on young people and the ability to work from a trauma informed approach
- Ability to undertake needs identification and risk assessments to inform decision making, planning and interventions for an individual or family plan
- Understanding of the purpose and expectations of the Victorian Child Protected Standards and demonstrated commitment to contributing to a child safe organisation in both practice and culture.
