Brunetti Classico is seeking a talented Commis Chef - Pizza to join our kitchen team on a part-time basis in Carlton, VIC 3053. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate chef to develop their skills in authentic pizza preparation within a dynamic hospitality environment. You will work alongside experienced chefs, learning traditional techniques and contributing to the creation of exceptional pizzas that define our offering. This role is perfect for someone eager to advance their culinary career in a respected establishment.

Key responsibilities

- Preparing pizza dough using traditional methods and maintaining consistency in quality and portion sizes
- Assisting in the preparation and mise en place of ingredients required for pizza service
- Operating pizza ovens and ensuring proper temperature control throughout service
- Assembling and cooking pizzas according to established recipes and customer specifications
- Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and cleanliness in the pizza preparation area
- Supporting senior chefs in kitchen operations and learning advanced pizza-making techniques
- Managing stock levels and reporting ingredient shortages to kitchen management
- Contributing to a positive team environment and assisting with general kitchen duties as required

What we’re looking for

- Culinary training or qualification (such as a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent)
- Experience working in a professional kitchen environment, ideally with pizza preparation experience
- Robust understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods




- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality in all aspects of food preparation
- Team player mentality with strong communication skills and willingness to learn
- Physical fitness and ability to stand for extended periods in a warm kitchen environment
- Flexibility with working hours, including weekends and evenings as required
- Passion for Italian cuisine and authentic pizza-making techniques (preferred)
