Mt Gravatt Community Centre is looking for a reliable, practical and friendly person to join our team as a Garden & Maintenance Support Officer.

Do you like working outdoors, fixing things and getting stuck into a job?

This is a hands‑on role with plenty of variety. You could be mowing a client's lawn in the morning, helping with a minor home repair, doing a rubbish run or helping set up an event in the afternoon.

What you'll be doing

- Lawn mowing and minor garden/grounds maintenance
- Minor handyman and home maintenance jobs
- Home safety checks and security pack installation
- Assisting with larger maintenance projects
- Rubbish removal, waste disposal and recycling
- Keeping vehicles, tools and supplies organised and maintained
- General maintenance, events, deliveries and helping out around our Centre

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who:

- Has some experience with mowing, gardening, handyman or general maintenance work
- Is practical, reliable and takes pride in their work
- Can work independently and use their initiative
- Is comfortable and safe working in and around people's homes, particularly when working with older people
- Is community‑minded and aligns with our values
- Is physically active and comfortable with lifting, bending and being on the go
- Has a Queensland Driver Licence (manual is preferred but not essential)
- Has, or can obtain,



a Blue Card and National Police Check

You don't need to be a qualified tradie. We're looking for someone who knows how to use their initiative, has a can‑do attitude and genuinely cares about doing a good job.

Most importantly, you'll need to be community minded and understand that the work you do is about more than just getting the job done. You'll be working with and around older people and other members of our community, so being respectful, friendly and willing to help is key.
