This is a varied, hands-on role where you'll assist with the site's maintenance program while also carrying out routine jobbing, machining and fitting work .

Location: Chermside, QLD

Pay: $40/hr (depending on experience) + Super + Overtime

Hours: Mon-Thurs 7:00am-3:30pm | Fri 7:00am-1:00pm

EIR Labour Hire is seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter / Fitter & Turner to join a long-standing metal manufacturing team in Chermside. This is a varied, hands-on role where you'll assist with the site's maintenance program while also carrying out routine jobbing, machining and fitting work .

What You'll Be Doing

- Assist with planned and preventative maintenance across the site
- Carry out routine jobbing and general fitting work
- Perform equipment inspections, servicing and minor repairs
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues
- Operate manual lathes and milling machines
- Machine and fabricate components as required
- Use cutting, drilling and pressing equipment
- Read and interpret technical drawings and work orders
- Complete general workshop duties
- Maintain a safe, clean and organised work workplace





What We're Looking For

- Trade qualification in Fitting & Turning, Mechanical Fitting or Machining preferred
- Previous fitting, machining or maintenance experience
- Experience with manual lathes and milling machines
- Strong mechanical aptitude and fault-finding ability
- Confident with routine jobbing and workshop work
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Reliable, safety-conscious and team-focused
