We are seeking a skilled, personable and mature Medical Receptionist to join our team at MBL Eye Surgeons in our Lismore, Ballina and Goonellabah clinics. This is a full-time position and you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and administrative support to our busy ophthalmology practice.

There is the opportunity to combine this role with that of a Scribe for one of our doctors. Your position would then be Receptionist/Scribe.

What you'll be doing

Greet and welcome patients in a friendly, approachable and professional manner

Book appointments, modify schedules and manage patient records

Process payments, handle billing enquiries and maintain financial records

Respond to telephone and in-person inquiries in a timely and courteous manner

Liaise with medical staff and help to coordinate patient flow

Maintain a clean and organised reception area

Assist with other administrative tasks as required

Scribe for the doctor, using our medical scribing software

What we're looking for

Previous experience as a medical receptionist is beneficial but not mandatory

A friendly and approachable manner with the ability to create a welcoming setting for customers

Strong customer service and interpersonal skills,



a Team player with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with patients, doctors, staff and outside customers

Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise tasks

Proficient in using medical software and other office technology

Training will be provided on our medical software system

Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records

A professional, mature and discreet manner when dealing with confidential information

The ability to think on your feet and resolve issues as they arise

Someone who is adaptable and comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
