Trainee Community Support Worker (various locations)

We are seeking Trainee (not qualified) Community Care Workers to work with aged care clients across the Greater Newcastle area.

This role is for those WHO DON'T hold a industry recognised qualfication, who would like to be paid to study and work. The traineeship is for 12 - 15 months, where you receive training with real clients, in their homes, and are paid to attend training and study days to complete a Certificate III in Individual Support (CHC33021) - Aged Care.

We have numerous roles across the greater Newcastle area, from Sandgate, Wellsand, Cardiff, Toronto and Belmont.

You will be hired within your local area and willing to travel up to 25 minutes to see clients.

You will be trained to deliver services to various services to clients in their homes.

Key responsibilities

Domestic Assistance (vacuuming, mopping, changing sheets, surface cleaning of living areas)

Shopping, completing weekly/fortnightly shopping for the client

Transportation, taking clients to and from appointments in the community

Personal Care (showering, dressing, grooming)

Respite and Social Support

Ability to listen, build a rapport, and work with a range of clients and other staff

About you

Have a great attitude





Be reliable and have clear communication skills

Want to work with the elderly in their home

Have a willingness to learn and work

Ability to obtain and pass a clear National Police Check

Hold a current NSW Driver's licence, have a reliable vehicle, and have full comprehensive insurance

Be an AU/NZ Citizen or Permanent Resident to access funding to complete the accredited training course and traineeship

Have regular availability, minimum 4 regular/consistent days per week (Monday to Friday)

Be fit and healthy, be able to complete a variety of tasks, and pass a fitness/health assessment

Desire to care for and help the elderly

Hold a current First Aid & CPR certificate or be willing to obtain.
