Hamtec Maintenance Solutions – Atherton QLD

As a Metal Fabricator with Hamtec Maintenance Solutions, you will be responsible for the fabrication, repair and installation of a wide range of structural, industrial and custom-fabricated components. The role will involve workshop fabrication as well as installation and repair work at customer sites. You will work with mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium, producing high-quality work to drawings, specifications and customer requirements. This is a varied position suited to a fabricator who enjoys problem-solving, custom fabrication and working on different projects rather than repetitive production work.

Key responsibilities

- Fabricate components and structures from mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, plans and fabrication specifications.
- Measure, mark out, cut, drill, bend and prepare materials.
- Perform MIG, TIG and MMA welding as required.
- Complete stainless steel and aluminium TIG welding to a high standard.
- Carry out food-grade and hygienic fabrication where required.
- Fabricate machinery guards, platforms, frames, brackets, chutes, hoppers and other industrial components.
- Manufacture and modify conveyor components and equipment.
- Repair and modify existing machinery and structures.
- Carry out onsite fabrication and installation work.

About you

- A recognised Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade or equivalent qualification.




- Previous experience as a Metal Fabricator or Boilermaker.
- Strong MIG and TIG welding skills.
- Experience working with mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Strong fabrication and fitting skills.
- Good understanding of measurements, tolerances and fabrication techniques.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Current driver's licence.
