We are looking for a Film Lab Assistant to join our team. This is a casual position with an immediate start, working approximately 3–5 days per week.

In this role, you will be part of both our customer service and lab production teams. You will assist customers with the purchase of film photography related products and services, manage order drop-offs and pick-ups, operate film processing and scanning equipment, and assist with a range of da-to-day lab production tasks.

Requirements

- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- A keen eye for image quality and strong technical aptitude for learning and operating specialised equipment
- Excellent attention to detail, particularly when completing repetitive tasks
- Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and sense of urgency
- Highly organised, reliable and punctual
- Self-motivated, eager to learn current skills and able to adapt to change




- Strong interpersonal skills and confidence interacting with customers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including assisting customers over the phone
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while operating equipment
- Recent references are essential
- Experience using both 35mm and medium-format cameras
- Good knowledge of film stocks
- A solid understanding of the technical aspects of film photography and film processing

Main Responsibilities

- Providing front-of-house customer service and support
- Responding to customer enquiries about scanning services, capabilities and turnaround times
- Advising customers on cameras, film stocks and related products and services
- Preparing film for processing
- Developing and scanning film
- Printing
- Assisting other team members with lab production tasks
- Working towards goals and KPIs

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about film photography, technically minded, detail-oriented and keen to develop their skills in a busy lab environment.
