Bradbury Hotel is looking for a reliable, skilled Casual Chef to join our kitchen team. We're a busy neighbourhood pub with strong community support, and we need someone who can deliver consistent, quality food across our service.

This is a great fit if you're looking for flexible, predictable hours (Wednesday to Sunday, no weekends beyond this spread), award-rate pay, and a supportive team environment. Whether you're building experience, balancing other commitments, or looking for steady casual work- this role offers genuine flexibility without the unpredictability of true casual shifts.

About the Role

You'll work as part of our kitchen team under the Head Chef's direction:

- Prep & cooking - Execute menus to brief and standard; handle mise en place, cooking stations & plating

- Consistency - Maintain quality & portion control across services

- Teamwork - Support other kitchen staff; communicate clearly during service

- Standards - Follow food safety, health & safety, and cleanliness procedures

- Flexibility - Cover different stations as needed; adapt to service pace

You're not leading- you're contributing to a well-run team with transparent direction and supportive management.





What We're Looking For

Experience & Skills

- 1-2+ years kitchen experience (sous chef, commis chef, or line cook level)

- Ability to work efficiently under service pressure

- Clean food safety knowledge & understanding of kitchen hygiene standards

- Comfortable working to a brief and following established recipes/procedures

Qualified Qualities

- Reliable & punctual (casual work depends on showing up)

- Positive attitude & good team communication

- Willing to learn and adapt

- Respect for the kitchen & your team members

- Valid visa/working rights in Australia

Practical Fit

- Comfortable committing Wed-Sun hours on a casual basis

- Flexibility to shift between cooking stations as needed
