About the role:

As our Cook/Kitchenhand, you will prepare hearty, nutritious meals that residents look forward to each day. You'll be responsible for menu planning, food ordering, stock control, and maintaining a clean and organised kitchen.

You’ll become a familiar and valued presence in the house, building positive relationships with residents while encouraging responsibility, respect, and participation around meal times

We're Looking For Someone Who

- Enjoys cooking traditional, home-style meals in larger quantities.
- Takes pride in making people feel cared for through good food.
- Has experience in a commercial kitchen, community kitchen, Meals on Wheels, aged care, hospitality, or similar environment.
- Can confidently manage food budgets, stock levels, and ordering.
- Is organised, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
- Has a naturally nurturing personality but is comfortable setting boundaries and maintaining standards.
- Can communicate respectfully with a diverse range of people and de-escalate issues when required.




- Works well as part of a team and can cater to dietary requirements and resident preferences.
- Holds a current NDIS Worker Screening Check (Yellow Card) or is willing to obtain one.

What You'll Be Doing

- Preparing nutritious breakfasts, lunches, and dinners for residents.
- Creating varied and enjoyable menus within budget.
- Managing food purchasing and stock control.
- Maintaining kitchen, pantry, fridge, and freezer areas to health and safety standards.
- Building positive relationships with residents and encouraging healthy eating habits.
- Working closely with management and support staff to meet residents’ needs.
- Assisting with medication administration if required (training provided).
