About the Role:

We are seeking a Graduate Hydrogeologist to join our Water Team in Napier or Christchurch, New Zealand. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the WGA+LDE, an AtkinsRéalis Company, working alongside an experienced team on water projects across New Zealand, Australia and the Pacific.

As a Graduate Hydrogeologist, you will contribute to a diverse range of groundwater and water resource projects, supporting investigations, analysis, modelling and reporting activities that help deliver sustainable water management outcomes for our clients.

In partnership with industry leaders, WGA has developed an inclusive and engaging Graduate Program designed to support your transition from study to professional practice. We are interested in hearing from recent graduates and final-year students who are passionate about building a rewarding career in engineering and Environmental sciences.

Key Responsibilities:

- Collecting and analysing field monitoring data, including undertaking hydraulic and pumping tests.
- Interpreting geological maps, bore logs and lithological data for hydrogeological assessments.




- Analysing aquifer test data to determine hydraulic parameters and support analytical modelling.
- Interpreting groundwater level and water quality data, including using GIS.
- Assisting in the preparation of hydrogeological technical reports.
- Supporting groundwater modelling projects and related investigations.
- Participating in fieldwork programmes and site visits across New Zealand and, where required, Australia and the Pacific.

About you:

To be successful in the role, you will need:

- A degree (MSc or PhD) in Geosciences.
- Field experience in groundwater (pumping tests, geological mapping) and/or surface water (flow measurements, tracers tests)
- Key software capabilities including Excel, ArcGIS and/or QGIS, and Modflow are also desirable
- Keen passion for working on forward-looking solutions to water management challenges.
- Strong communication skills, including high-quality technical report writing skills.
- Ideally strong project management skills and ability to interact with our clients to facilitate project delivery and best outcomes.
