About the role

City West Kids Cafe is seeking a Play Centre Birthday Party Assistant to join our team on a casual basis . This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, family-friendly environment in West Perth, WA 6005 . As a Birthday Party Assistant, you will play a crucial role in creating memorable celebrations for children and their families. You will work alongside our experienced team to ensure each party runs smoothly and safely, contributing directly to the positive experiences that keep families coming back to City West Kids Cafe.

Key responsibilities

- Assist in setting up and decorating party spaces to create festive and welcoming environments for birthday celebrations
- Welcome guests upon arrival and provide clear information about party schedules, facilities and activities
- Supervise children during play activities and games, ensuring their safety and enjoyment throughout the party
- Help facilitate organised games, activities and entertainment tailored to the age group being celebrated
- Assist with food and beverage service, including setup, distribution and cleanup
- Manage party materials and equipment, ensuring everything is clean, safe and readily available
- Support the party host in addressing guest requests and resolving any issues that may arise
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the party space
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure seamless party coordination

What we're looking for

- Experience working with children in a hospitality or childcare setting (preferred but not essential)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage positively with children and families




- Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail
- Reliable and punctual, with flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends and school holidays
- A genuine passion for creating fun, safe and inclusive environments for children
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team whilst also taking independent initiative
- Physical stamina and capability to stand for extended periods and assist with setup and teardown activities
- Current or willingness to obtain a Working With Children Check (WWCC) or similar certification
- A positive, enthusiastic attitude and willingness to learn
