Responsibilities

Assist the head chef with preparing and cooking menu items to spec

Maintain high standards in food presentation and timing

Keep stock levels in check and communicate shortages

Ensure the kitchen stays clean, safe, and organised

Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards

Work as part of a collaborative, fast-paced team

Manage the kitchen effectively and efficiently in absence of the head chef

Monitor quality and consistency of dishes





Help train and support new kitchen team members

Uphold hygiene standards and kitchen compliance

Contribute to efficient stock and labour cost management

Requirements

Proven experience as a restaurant cook or chef level

Strong understanding of food and safety standards

Full working rights in Australia

Ability to work well in a team workplace

Excellent communication skills/proficient in English

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure

Great time and food preperation management skills in quiet and/or busy periods

Availability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays (essential)

Job Type: Contract – minimum 15 hours per week
