As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced and approachable Human Resources & WHS Manager to take ownership of the full employee lifecycle and support a protected, professional and positive workplace.

This is a hands-on role suited to a capable HR generalist who enjoys working closely with management and employees and is comfortable balancing strategic responsibilities with the practical, day-to-day needs of the business.

About the role

Reporting directly to senior management, you will be responsible for managing and continually improving Guardian’s HR and workplace health and safety functions.

Your responsibilities will include:





- Managing recruitment, employment contracts, onboarding and offboarding

- Providing practical advice to managers and employees on workplace matters

- Interpreting Modern Awards, employment contracts and workplace legislation

- Managing performance, conduct, grievances and workplace investigations

- Coordinating probation reviews, employee development and recognition programs

- Reviewing and maintaining HR policies, procedures and employee records

- Supporting workforce planning, remuneration reviews and employee engagement

- Managing leave, attendance, return-to-work and injury management processes

- Maintaining and improving Guardian’s WHS management systems

- Coordinating risk assessments, incident and near-miss reporting and investigations

- Monitoring corrective actions and ensuring identified safety matters are followed through

- Supporting employee consultation, toolbox meetings and WHS training

- Assisting with workers compensation and return-to-work requirements

- Monitoring compliance with relevant employment and WHS obligations

- Promoting a workplace culture built around accountability, communication, safety and continuous improvement

About you

To succeed in this position, you will ideally have:





- Demonstrated experience in a broad HR generalist, HR Manager or People and Culture role

- Robust knowledge of Australian employment legislation and Modern Awards

- Experience managing employee relations and performance matters confidently and fairly

- Practical experience with WHS systems, incident management and risk controls

- Excellent written communication, organisation and record-keeping skills

- The confidence to provide clear advice while remaining approachable and supportive

- The ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement and maintain confidentiality

- A relevant qualification in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline

- A Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety, or a willingness to obtain one

Experience in a trade services, construction, field-service or multi-site environment would be highly regarded.
