THE ROLE

Talent Street is partnering with a Queensland State Government agency to recruit a Senior Procurement Officer on a contract basis, based in Queensland. Working within a fast-paced ICT program, you'll provide end-to-end procurement, contract management, and commercial support across a portfolio of technology and digital transformation initiatives. Reporting to the Senior Program Manager, you'll work closely with project managers, business stakeholders, vendors, and departmental procurement teams to deliver value-for-money outcomes while maintaining full compliance with government governance frameworks and legislative requirements.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

- Coordinating and supporting end-to-end procurement activities, including market approaches, requests for quotation, requests for tender, and evaluation processes
- Managing contract administration including obligations, deliverables, milestones, variations, renewals, and extensions
- Providing expert procurement and contract management advice to project teams, senior managers, and key stakeholders
- Monitoring vendor and supplier performance against contracted service levels, KPIs, and obligations — escalating issues and recommending corrective actions
- Tracking contract expenditure, supporting budget forecasting, invoice validation, and financial reporting
- Identifying and managing procurement and contract risks,



implementing appropriate controls and mitigation strategies
- Preparing governance reports, briefing papers, and contract performance reports for senior leadership and governance bodies
- Supporting audit, assurance, and compliance activities while maintaining accurate and auditable procurement records
- Contributing to continuous improvement of procurement processes, templates, and governance practices

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

- Demonstrated experience in procurement, contract management, or commercial support within a government, ICT, or large organisational environment
- Solid working knowledge of contract management principles, procurement processes, vendor performance management, and compliance frameworks
- Experience interpreting contract terms and monitoring supplier performance against agreed obligations
- Solid financial management skills including expenditure tracking, forecasting, and value-for-money reporting
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple projects

NICE TO HAVE

- Experience in Queensland Government or other highly regulated procurement environments
- Background supporting ICT, digital transformation, or professional services procurement
- Relevant qualifications in Procurement, Commerce, Business, Contract Management, Law, or a related field
- Procurement Certification Level 3 or higher
