Your role

The Aboriginal Housing Office (AHO) is delivering a significant Capital Maintenance Program to improve and extend the life of State owned homes across NSW.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Officer to support the effective delivery of this program and ensure key projects progress efficiently, meet deadlines and achieve quality outcomes for Aboriginal people, families and communities.

What you’ll do

- Coordinate the delivery of projects within the AHO Capital Maintenance Program, Acquisition Upgrade Progam and Demolition Program
- Manage the planning, procurement, delivery and completion of housing upgrades, property acquisitions, remediation and demolition projects across NSW.
- Develop and monitor project plans, milestones, budgets, risks and issues.
- Coordinate internal teams, contractors and stakeholders to keep works progressing to schedule.
- Monitor project performance and identify and resolve issues that may impact delivery.
- Prepare project reports, briefings, status updates and advice for senior stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with Aboriginal communities, Aboriginal Community Housing Providers, contractors, consultants and government stakeholders to achieve positive housing outcomes.
- Identify opportunities to improve project delivery,



program performance and value for money outcomes across AHO housing programs.
- Provide project management advice and support to ensure works are delivered efficiently and to agreed standards.
- Contribute to improved housing outcomes for Aboriginal people, families and communities.

What we’re looking for

- Demonstrated experience managing complex projects and programs from planning through to delivery.
- Demonstrated experience delivering construction, maintenance, asset, housing, infrastructure or property-related projects.
- Understanding of the importance of culturally appropriate engagement and working effectively with Aboriginal people, families, communities and organisations.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while balancing competing priorities, deadlines and stakeholder expectations.
- Strong project management, stakeholder engagement and organisational skills.
- Experience managing budgets, timelines, risks and reporting requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare high-quality reports and briefings.
- The ability to build and maintain productive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- A commitment to improving outcomes for Aboriginal people, families and communities.
- The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
