About the role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Litigation Lawyer (Construction) to join our growing team at Foresight Law Group in Parramatta, NSW. This is a full-time position offering an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in construction law and dispute resolution within a supportive and intellectually stimulating environment. You will play a vital role in managing complex construction disputes, advising clients on contractual matters, and representing their interests in litigation and alternative dispute resolution processes. This position offers the chance to work on high-value, technically challenging matters that have significant commercial and practical implications.

Key responsibilities

- Manage a portfolio of construction litigation and dispute resolution matters from initial instruction through to resolution, including trials, arbitrations, and mediations
- Provide expert legal advice to clients on construction contracts, defects liability, delay claims, and payment disputes
- Draft pleadings, applications, particulars of claim, and other court documents of a high standard
- Conduct legal research and prepare comprehensive advice memoranda on complex construction law issues




- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, expert witnesses, and court officers to progress matters efficiently
- Prepare and present oral submissions at court hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences
- Conduct and supervise discovery, document review, and evidence preparation
- Assist with pre-trial preparation and case strategy development
- Collaborate with senior lawyers and other team members to deliver exceptional client outcomes
- Maintain detailed and accurate file management and client billing records

What we're looking for

- Admission to the Legal Profession (or eligible to apply for admission) in New South Wales
- Minimum 2 years' post-admission experience in construction litigation and dispute resolution, or equivalent experience in commercial litigation with a strong construction law component
- Solid understanding of construction contracts, including AS 4000–11 and other standard-form contracts used in the construction industry
- Demonstrated expertise in civil procedure rules and court processes, with experience managing matters from initiation through to final determination
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesise complex information into clear and persuasive advice
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral,



with the ability to explain legal concepts clearly to clients with varying levels of legal knowledge
- Professional competence in managing client relationships and maintaining trust and confidence
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team, with strong organisational and time management skills
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality in all work
- Experience with legal software and IT proficiency
- Preferred: experience in alternative dispute resolution mechanisms such as arbitration, mediation, or expert determination; experience advising contractors, principals, or professional indemnity insurers; or specific knowledge of defects liability and Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act claims
