Western Sydney ( Hills District ) based
The company you'll join
They are an established Australian owned manufacturer, designing, engineering and producing their own products from a purpose built Western Sydney facility, with engineering, production, warehousing and support all under the one roof.
Privately owned and operating locally for several decades, they have kept their manufacturing onshore while much of their sector moved offshore.
Their products are well recognised in their markets and hold a strong position in the categories they compete in.
Alongside the core business they run a growing secure and defence division, backed by significant investment in dedicated manufacturing capability.
They hold the quality, environmental and security accreditations required to operate at that level.
That division includes a specialist defence communications capability that now sits fully embedded within the wider operation.
The business continues to grow, with an expanding footprint beyond Australia.
Around 250 people work in the business, and people stay. It is not unusual to meet team members who have been there for decades, some past the 40 year mark, and turnover across operations is genuinely low.
The people and culture function is being built out under new leadership, so you are coming in early enough to help shape how it works and to have your fingerprints on what gets built rather than inheriting something already set.
You will be joining a business where nothing is broken and everything is an chance to improve, with the tools and the data already there to act on.
The impact you'll make
You will be the dedicated P&C; partner to the operations side of the business, around 130 people across production and warehousing, the majority award covered, plus the leaders who run those teams.
You will own the employee experience: onboarding, the engagement survey from rollout through to communication, and reward and recognition, which is yours to reshape with real creative licence.
There is deep technical expertise sitting inside this team, and a real opportunity to build the programs that capture it, develop people around it and set the next wave up to carry it forward.
You will have licence to think differently about how talent comes into the business, with genuine appetite from leadership for fresh ideas on attraction, early careers and flexible ways of working.
You will coach and support supervisors and managers through performance conversations, flexible work requests and day to day employee relations, in a team where many leaders are handling these for the first time.
You will sit in the weekly supervisors meeting and spend real time on the floor, with space set up specifically so that P&C; is present rather than remote.
You will report to the head of People and Culture and partner closely with the GM of Operations, with a fractional learning and development partner and established external leadership programs to draw on.
The experience you'll bring
You will bring solid generalist P&C; or HR advisory experience, ideally gained supporting an operations, production or warehousing population. This is not an entry level role.
You are comfortable across the full remit: remuneration and award aligned offers, employee relations, performance management, development and engagement.
You have worked with both blue collar and white collar populations and understand the nuances of an award covered workforce.
Manufacturing experience is ideal but genuinely not essential. Warehousing, logistics or any operationally complex environment with a large frontline workforce will translate well.
You are visible, curious and easy to talk to, the kind of P&C; person who will spend a shift alongside a supervisor to understand how the work actually gets done.
On offer, a competitive salary package and a rare chance to shape a function inside a stable, growing Australian manufacturer. Interviewing now!
