Direct Chemist Outlet is one of Australia’s fastest-growing pharmacy groups, with more than 150 pharmacies across the country and we’re continuing to grow.

We’re looking for an Area Manager to support our Queensland network.

Our stores are spread across metropolitan and regional Queensland, so travel is a significant part of this role. You’ll spend much of your time out in stores and need to be genuinely comfortable with regular driving, regional travel and overnight stays when required.

We’re not looking for someone who simply walks through stores with a checklist.

We want someone who builds great relationships, spots opportunities, understands the numbers and rolls up their sleeves to help stores get better.

What you’ll do

You’ll work closely with pharmacy owners, managers and their teams to help their businesses perform at their best.

You’ll:

- Build trusted relationships with pharmacy owners, managers and store teams.

- Coach and support managers to develop high-performing teams.

- Use sales, KPIs and store data to identify opportunities and drive performance.

- Help stores improve execution, merchandising and customer experience.

- Solve problems rather than simply pointing them out.

- Support the implementation of current initiatives and ways of working.

- Share great ideas and successes across the network.

- Work closely with our Support Centre team to get stores the support they need.

- Travel regularly across metropolitan and regional Queensland, including overnight stays when required.

You’re open to feedback, willing to have difficult conversations and comfortable getting outside your comfort zone.

And you’re prepared to have a go. We believe in being brave before being confident.

What you’ll bring

- Retail pharmacy experience – essential.

- Experience leading stores, teams or multiple locations.

- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of retail KPIs.

- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

- A practical, hands-on approach to problem-solving.

- A current Australian driver’s licence.

- A genuine willingness to travel regularly across Queensland, including regional travel and overnight stays.

Experience with pharmacy software and multi-site management is highly regarded, but we’re equally interested in people with the right attitude, capability and desire to grow.
