Maternal & Child Health Nurse Universal (Fixed-Term)

1 x Full-time ( Part-time available upon negotiation) Fixed Term Contract until September 2027.

About the role:

We are seeking a motivated Maternal and Child Health (MCH)nurse to join our vibrant team and fill a Full-time (part-time avalilable upon negotiation) Fixed Term role (until September 2027) within theUniversal MCH program.

The MCH team sits within the Family, Youth & Children’sunit and includes provision of KAS visits, facilitating first parent groups,outreach work as required, integrated service collaboration, flexibleactivities to target vulnerability, and participation in early year’sinitiatives.

About you:

To be successful in this role you will have excellentinterpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with families,colleagues, welfare and early year’s professionals. You are required to havecurrent registration with AHPRA as a registered nurse and a registered midwife,and a recognised post graduate Maternal and Child Health qualification to meetemployment in Victoria. You need a current Victorian driver’s licence, Workingwith Children and police check.

A position in the MCH team will involve working from any ofthe six MCH integrated sites across the City of Ballarat, which arepredominantly co-located early learning hubs. To match resourcingrequirements and to meet the demands of an expanding MCH program days of workwill be determined with the successful applicant.

- Abilityto communicate effectively with families, colleagues and otherprofessionals.
- Demonstratedexperience and understanding of evidence-based practice in the VictorianMaternal and Child Health service including Key Age and Stage UniversalMaternal and Child Health
- Specialisedknowledge of child health and development, women’s health, and familyviolence.
- Demonstratedability to work independently and manage own workload.
- Demonstratedcommitment to networking and liaison with key community organisations andGovernment departments.
- Demonstratedability to work collaboratively within a team framework responding tochanging family needs and service delivery requirements.
- Familiaritywith computer MS Office 365 products and Maternal and Child Health CDISdatabase.
