Fire Boar is seeking an experienced Passive Fire Technician to join our growing team servicing Brisbane and South-East Queensland. You'll be responsible for inspecting, maintaining and rectifying passive fire protection systems across a range of commercial, industrial and residential sites. You'll be the face of Fire Boar on site, working directly with customers, building managers and other trades. This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who takes pride in their workmanship, can work independently and understands that good passive fire protection is about getting the details right.

This is a service-based role with minimal work on construction sites.

Key responsibilities

- Inspect passive fire protection systems and identify defects and non-compliances
- Carry out passive fire rectification works including fire stopping to service penetrations, installation of fire collars, wrap, sealants, batt and board systems
- Repair and maintain fire‑rated walls, ceilings and other passive fire elements
- Install and maintain passive fire products in accordance with tested methods, manufacturer's instructions and relevant standards
- Identify defective, damaged or non‑compliant passive fire installations
- Complete accurate service reports, inspection records and defect documentation
- Maintain accurate records using Uptick
- Read and interpret drawings, specifications and passive fire system details
- Communicate professionally with customers, building managers, facility managers and internal staff
- Maintain a clean, organised service vehicle and ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained

About you

- Current QBCC Occupational Licence – Passive—install and maintain—fire collars, penetrations and fire‑rated joint sealing (or eligibility to obtain)
- Experience in passive fire protection,



fire stopping or a related construction trade
- Experience with fire‑rated walls, ceilings, penetrations, fire collars, sealants and other passive fire systems
- Good working knowledge of AS , NCC/BCA and relevant installation standards
- Ability to identify defects and determine appropriate rectification
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Good attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently and manage your own daily schedule
- Robust communication skills and a professional client‑facing manner
- White Card and current manual Queensland driver's licence
