FGI Developments is seeking an experienced HR Officer to join our team in Cairns, Queensland. In this full-time position, you will play a crucial role in supporting our organisation's human resources function and contributing to the overall success of our company.

Key responsibilities

- Oversee the recruitment and onboarding process for new employees, including sourcing candidates, coordinating interviews, and facilitating the hiring process
- Administer employee records and documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant HR policies and procedures
- Provide advice and guidance to managers and employees on HR-related matters, such as payroll, leave entitlements, performance management, and disciplinary procedures
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR initiatives, including training and development programs
- Contribute to the maintenance of the company's human resources information system (HRIS)
- Participate in the development and review of HR policies and procedures
- Provide support in employee relations, including conflict resolution and grievance handling

About you

- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, or a related field




- Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar HR officer or generalist role, preferably within the construction industry
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with employees at all levels
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage competing demands
- Demonstrated knowledge of HR-related legislation and regulations, including workplace health and safety
- A proactive and customer-focused approach, with a commitment to providing high-quality service
