An exciting chance is available for an experienced Nurse Unit Manager to join a well-established private hospital in Western Sydney.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced perioperative leader who is confident managing a busy theatre workplace and wants to join a supportive, highly skilled team.

The Opportunity

MAYDAY Healthcare are currently recruiting on behalf of a private hospital for an experienced Nurse Unit Manager to lead the perioperative department and oversee the day-to-day operations of the theatre team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong scrub nursing background and previous leadership experience within a theatre environment. Candidates currently working as a NUM are encouraged to apply, as are experienced Floor Coordinators or senior theatre leaders who are ready to step into a NUM position.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

Strong perioperative nursing experience with a scrub background

Experience across specialties such as general surgery, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, plastics or ENT

Previous leadership experience within a theatre setting

Experience at NUM, Floor Coordinator or similar leadership level

Strong people leadership skills and the ability to lead and support CNS and nursing teams

A strong understanding of theatre operations, patient flow and team coordination

Confidence managing accreditation, quality and clinical governance requirements

Excellent communication,



organisation and decision-making skills

Current AHPRA registration
