Logan City Council is seeking motivated and community-focused Park Rangers to join our team and help maintain safe, welcoming and accessible public spaces across one of Australia's fastest growing cities. This is a unique opportunity to combine compliance, education, investigation and community engagement in a rewarding frontline role.

About the role

As a Park Ranger, you will play a critical role in promoting the safe and lawful use of Council parks and public spaces. You will investigate legislative and local law breaches, educate residents and visitors, respond to customer concerns, and work collaboratively with other agencies to achieve positive community outcomes. The role involves inspections, investigations, evidence gathering, stakeholder engagement, conflict resolution and compliance activities in a dynamic outdoor environment.

You will regularly engage with a diverse range of community members, including vulnerable people and individuals experiencing homelessness. Rangers work closely with Council's Public Space Liaison Team and other support agencies to ensure people experiencing hardship are treated with dignity, respect and compassion while balancing community safety, public amenity and legislative obligations.

This role requires strong communication skills, emotional intelligence and the ability to manage challenging situations professionally and non-judgementally and build respectful relationships with stakeholders.

This position does have a unique roster providing excellent work-life balance with 10 consecutive days on followed by 4 consecutive days off.

What you will be doing:

- Conduct inspections and investigations into alleged breaches of legislation and local laws.
- Educate park users and the community regarding safe and lawful use of public spaces.
- Gather evidence, prepare reports and support legal proceedings when required.
- Issue notices, directions and infringement notices where appropriate.
- Respond to customer complaints and proactively identify compliance issues.




- Build strong relationships with community members, businesses, government agencies and support services.
- Work collaboratively within a high-performing team to achieve community safety outcomes.

What we are looking for:

- Passionate about community service and public safety.
- Confident communicators who can influence, educate and de-escalate challenging situations.
- Comfortable making sound decisions based on evidence and legislation.
- Resilient, empathetic and capable of working with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Experienced in investigations, compliance, enforcement, security, community safety, customer service or a related field.
- Able to work effectively in a rapid-paced environment with competing priorities.
- A Certificate IV in Government (Investigations) or equivalent qualification will be highly regarded.
- A current Motorbike (Class R) licence would be highly regarded.

- Possession of a current "C" class driver's licence is essential with the ability to obtain "R" class bike licence desirable.

- MR when operating rigid vehicle with 2 axles and a GVM over 8 tonnes
