Temporary Accountant - Short-Term Contract

Nexus Stone Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and reliable Accountant to join the team on a temporary basis, providing cover while the current accountant is on leave. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who can step into an established finance function, work independently and ensure the smooth continuation of day-to-day accounting and payroll activities.

Key responsibilities

Accounts payable and accounts receivable
n
Bank and credit card reconciliations
n
Processing and managing payroll
n
Superannuation and employee entitlements
n
Preparing and lodging BAS
n
Maintaining accurate financial records in Xero
n
Supplier and customer account reconciliations
n
Managing payments and following up outstanding accounts
n
Assisting with month-end reporting
n




General accounting and finance administration
n
n
About you
n
n
Highly proficient in Xero
n
Valuable knowledge of Australian payroll, superannuation and BAS requirements
n
Confident working independently and taking ownership of the accounts function
n
Solid attention to detail and organisational skills
n
Able to quickly learn existing processes and systems
n
Reliable, skilled and comfortable working in a busy business environment
n
Experience within the construction, manufacturing or stone industry would be advantageous but is not essential
