Sheppard Earthmoving is seeking experienced Plant Operators and Vacuum Excavation Truck Operators to join our team in Toowoomba, Queensland. As a full-time position, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a range of plant to support our projects across the region.
What you'll be doing
- Safely operate and maneuver a variety of plant, including vacuum excavation trucks, excavators, loaders, skid steer loaders, tip trucks, and under bore machines
- Perform daily pre-start checks and routine maintenance on assigned equipment
- Communicate effectively with the site supervisor and other team members to coordinate plant usage
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment
- Provide high-quality work and contribute to the successful delivery of construction projects
What we're looking for
- Minimum 2 years’ experience operating mobile plant, including excavators, front-end loaders, skid steer loaders and tip trucks.
- Vacuum excavation experience is not essential — full training will be provided to the right candidate.
- Current MR or higher driver’s licence .
- Current White Card (General Construction Induction) .
- Strong understanding of secure plant operation, basic maintenance and equipment care .
- Ability to work safely and effectively as part of a team, as well as independently and with minimal supervision across a range of projects.
- Strong communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills .
- A proactive and reliable approach to work, with a commitment to quality workmanship and maintaining high safety standards .
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different equipment, worksites and project requirements.
